Testa di Lepre: the countryside Rome forgot

The locality of Testa di Lepre sits between the Tyrrhenian Sea and Lake Bracciano, in the agricultural zone that was reclaimed and redistributed to war veterans by Ente Maremma after World War II. The land is flat, open, and genuinely rural in a way that surprises visitors who expect only suburbs and logistics warehouses.

What to do at Podere 676

The brewery tour is the main reason people come from Rome and, increasingly, from abroad. Two hours that take you through hop fields, the restored 1953 hayloft-turned-brewery, and a guided tasting of 3 CCPB-certified organic beers. Led personally by one of the four founding cousins.

The barbecue area is one of the best open-air food and drink setups in the area. Large tables, outdoor space, cold beer, and a menu built around Roman ingredients. Available for private hire for birthdays, stag/hen dos, and group celebrations.

Events happen Thursday through Sunday throughout the year — live music, stand-up comedy nights, quiz evenings, seasonal barbecues over Easter and summer. A genuinely local crowd, not a tourist spectacle.

The address is Via Cavalier Antonio Casetti 30, Testa di Lepre (Fiumicino). By car from central Rome: 30–35 minutes via the A91. From Fiumicino Airport: 15 minutes by taxi or rideshare.

The brewery is open Thursday–Sunday. The guided tour requires advance booking. Walk-ins are welcome for the beer garden on open evenings.
